Smothered Southern Cabbage with Sausage is a delicious one-pan meal that is loaded with wonderful Southern flavors. Sauteed onions, bell pepper, and celery are the perfect complement to the cooked cabbage. The addition of sausage and a can of diced tomatoes makes this into a complete meal. This recipe only yields about four servings, but it is very easy to double this recipe. Just when you thought this recipe couldn't get any better, you can also make this into a gumbo with a few simple changes. Simply add in sliced okra and chicken broth and you'll have a pot of cabbage gumbo!
