Chicken fried steak was something I would have on occasion when I was growing up in Maryland. It seemed to be completely unknown in other parts of the country I visited. This is very much how I remembered it from when my mother used to make it. I've made it a few times since, but I have used ground beef instead of the cube steak on occasion. I've always liked this dish, primarily because I enjoy fried foods, and this is something off the beaten path for most people.

Not yet but I'm DEFINITELY going to - my Grammy used to make this both at her home AND at her cafe she owned when I was in grade school!
