This old fashioned recipe was born from a love of desserts and a lack of ingredients. Water Pie is a recipe that was developed during the Great Depression, when cooks with tight budgets used their resourcefulness to create delicious dishes with simple ingredients. This Water Pie recipe is made using flour, sugar, vanilla, butter, and (you guessed it) water! This surprisingly creamy dessert was a beloved comfort food during hard times that has been passed down through the generations.
