Nothing says Southern tradition like a beautiful layer cake, and this Classic Caramel Layer Cake is steeped in country comfort. The caramel frosting recipe is light, fluffy, and the perfect complement to the layers of basic buttermilk cake. The frosting is made from homemade caramel sauce, some of which is reserved to be drizzled over the final cake. Toasted pecans also top the final product for a wonderfully crunchy complement to the sweet cake and frosting.

This looks so delicious! The frosting recipe is super perfect if you were making Twix cupcakes or something similar to that too!!
