A 15-year pimento cheese dream was finally made a reality in Greensboro, N.C. over Halloween weekend of 2010. Dr. Cheryl Barnett developed a passion for pimento cheese early in life as a hobby while operating her own orthodontic practice. As she served her delicious recipe to family and friends she wished that one day she could sell it in the grocery store “for all those people with busy lives like [hers].” After retiring earlier than she had expected due to a back injury, Barnett finally began her pimento cheese “factory” in her home’s small guest cottage with the help of her family. She hoped her drive to create a second career would inspire her three young sons. The company name was chosen to honor her children who offered endless support and encouragement as the new company took off.
Initially available in only 2 local grocery stores, the company grew quickly adding 300 more stores in 8 Southeastern states within 18 months. MyThreeSons Gourmet boasts a unique recipe with no artificial ingredients, flavors or preservatives. The pimento cheese is made with high quality, extra sharp cheddar, aged 9 months, with minimal mayonnaise and a few secret spices. Currently, MyThreeSons pimento cheese is offered in three flavors: Emmy’s Original, Fire Roasted Jalapeno and Spicy White Cheddar. Often described by consumers as “the best I’ve ever eaten”, with no preservatives and an abundance of quality ingredients, it tastes just like you made it at home... fresh and delicious!
