These Old-Fashioned Jam Bars are filled with peach jam and flavored with a hint of almond extract. The bars also have finely chopped almonds running throughout them. These easy dessert bars feature two layers. The bottom layer is a crust that is firm but also tender. The top layer is light and fluffy, almost like cake. The bars are also topped with a simple glaze made from powdered sugar, milk, and almond extract. Take these dessert bars to a party or a potluck for a fruity Southern dessert that will stand out. These vintage jam bars are best enjoyed with a big glass of milk.

What I like about jam bars is that it is a good way to use up jams in your fridge, especially when they are approaching their expiry dates. Sometimes I even combine several fruits. Blueberry with raspberry or even strawberry combine quite well. Pineapple and peach in combination works well too.#BestIdeaEver.

These jam bars look perfect for a party or a potluck. I'll definitely have to bring some to my next family get-together!
